My Approach

About Me

I graduated from Pepperdine University with a BA in psychology and from the USC School of Social Work with an MSW and a concentration in clinical mental health.  While pursuing licensure, I gained valuable experience working with underserved populations like homeless veterans and kids and teens in individual, group and family therapy. I transitioned later in my career to working with adults in private healthcare settings like Kaiser Permanente and the San Francisco Stress and Anxiety Center. I am trained in providing evidence based psychotherapy with an emphasis on behavioral modalities.

My Clients

I believe each person comes to treatment because they are doing their best, but might need a little extra help solving problems in their lives. We all have an inbuilt tendency towards growth and fulfillment.  I approach each client with an attitude of cultural humility. I am Body Positivity focused, Queer Allied, Racial Justice Allied, and a feminist. I work best with clients who show willingness to explore the mind body connection. I am also trained as a clinical supervisor for masters-level clinical associates. To inquire about individual supervision, please contact me.

Specialties

As a therapist I follow best practice guidelines. That means that I will always put your welfare first. I will establish a treatment plan and evaluate progress towards goals throughout therapy, and my ultimate goal is to make myself obsolete and empower you to continue growing. We will work together to see which of the following approaches fits best based on your presenting concern, and we can always revisit the plan.

Modalities I use often include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy (MBCT), and CBT based exposure therapy, or ERP.

Although I am comfortable treating a wide range of diagnoses and comorbidities, the issues I am most passionate about include:

Anxiety
Stress
Relationship issues
Perfectionism
Imposter syndrome
OCD
Phobias
